    • Thanks for the reply mate. Yeah have read both those posts and just about every one I can find online. Have found a decent amount of conflicting information. Such as this vid on YouTube where he welds up the main body of the diff body and not the spider gears at all.    Derby is Waikaraka Park this Saturday! Should be a bit of fun for sure
    • I have no physical experience either sorry but yeah sounds like you've read this one? that's usually my goto : guide when people ask the question   any newer threads usually lead back to there eg from here sounds like fun where is this derby? 😎
    • Hi all,   Am in the process of a RWD conversion on an Impreza derby car. Have stripped the centre diff and cut off the splines for the front output. Will welding the spider gears through the little viewing hole be enough? Have seen other posts where the top plate is completely welded to the main body?    Thanks
    • There's not many manuals for sale here atm. There was a nice blue one down at Value Motors in Lower Hutt I checked out about 150,000km for 32k. THere was a black one at RPM in auckland for 33k/ There was a manual one in ChCh private for 24k and there is one for 27k in North shore   These are the only 2 I can currently see (https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/subaru/impreza/listing/5018367561)   https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/subaru/impreza/listing/4966503461
    • I was in the same situation a few years back and went for the Auto    After 3 years I did get sick of the auto and currently are in a manual hatch, the autos are not too bad i had mine tuned by SAS and made it a lot more fun, had no issues at all with it    I found it hard trying to sell my auto one, although they are a reasonably niche market as are the manual ones, currently hard cars to sell so I'd highly recommend get a manual if that's what your really after, I paid 18k for my manual but had highish kms and motor was rebuilt
