Not my car, but still had fun. Drove this round in circles in Taupo last weekend at the endurance race:

3 hour race with a mate, so did 1.5 hours each. Good learning experience as haven't done much door to door stuff before.

Awesome stuff! Didn't realize it was you driving, would have been a lot of fun. Your car was quite loud when I was standing on pit wall! (I was crewing for the yellow and blue Honda)

Yeah good experience and all our mechanical dramas happened in the practice and qualifying, including a strut falling apart! So we got a little lucky..!

Good fun, but will definitely need ear plugs for the last round at Hampton Downs. Will you be there too? That was the Spoon Honda I am guessing?

Does your friend own a very nice Lotus Exige by any chance?

Changed that mongrel water temp sensor .... Reset ECU twice and still does same code :/ raaaaaaaage

Might be faulty wiring to the water temp sender?

Anywho. Today I put my engine in the car :D split fuel rail, V7 STi engine de-avcs'd j2 ecu installed.

Right rear cam sensor for v7 stuff got in the way of the fuel rail, so we pulled it made a blanking plate for it, left hand side rear cam sensor doesnt interfere as it sits on a different angle, and doesnt have an.FPR in its' face. Too dark now to continue should have it all finished tomorrow. Radiator, exhaust intercooler etc. Yet to go on.

Had to re-use BH hard lines for rocker breathers, so i have yucky stuff over top of the manifold :( as the BH manifold is rather short compared to v7 where stuff goes, things were squishing :/ but overall quite happy with the days progress even though I slept half of it.

Next list of mods: downpipe and headers. Well probably a nee couple of tyres first. Damn kids letting them down and shizz. 7mm tread: bubble in sidewall. :(

No photos, because dark :P

Sweet, that was lucky! Where did you guys finish up overall?

Yeah the Spoon Honda was the one I was with (we look after it at work). I should be at Hamptons, although I am also supposed to be going home to Palmy that weekend so will have to see how it all plays out - we will also have the other Spoon car to look after for that round. If I am there I will come and find you - do you drive the first stint or the last?

JohnnyNZ - definitely not, has a Commodore race car and a couple of other cars. But no Lotus sadly! He is from Auckland.

Tony - finished 17th I think? But this was very much the shakedown for the car (new motor), it has enough power to smoke up the inside wheel in 3rd, which is bad, as it has no LSD. So we toasted the front tyres at Taupo and I was losing quite a lot of time on corner exit! Also had some small electrical issues, a drive through penalty for pit lane speeding (turns out if you try hard enough you can defeat the pit speed limiter!), a fuel spill while fueling up and a strut problem, but fortunately the car held together in the actual race, it's quite factory as far as mechanicals are concerned. Just lots of weight taken out and the worlds largest exhaust for such a small motor!

We were 5 seconds off the red DC2 Integra, which was our benchmark, so figure that's not too bad. Just yeah, if we are a bit tidier with our pitwork and don't get in trouble we should have done ok in our class. But really an LSD will transform the car, if Adam decides he wants to get one at some stage.

Now got a project to focus on, I'm back to caring about cleaning etc...Polished the muffler, took about an hour as previous owner she didn't once clean it..It has come up quite nice and also spent some time on the interior, the windows had sooo much crap come off them so that should fix the fogging up issue now.

Found more little bits and pieces to sort now, couple interior panels with busted clips/missing screws, so that is next on the agenda to sort then save up and buy a ton of car cleaning stuff to work on a decent weekend.

Everything is back together, wont start though, wondering if because my A7 was black sticker and the J2 is red sticker, will the cam and crank sensor wires be different on ecu? Was almost so happy today hahaha.

Mean, pull the cam sensor off then turn it over. Connect black plugs and see if you have a cam sensor CEL-13, then you know they are around the right way.

Could be the fuel pump wire, same trouble I had. Couldn't find the pin so wired fuel pump wire to ECU power source. (pump turns on with ignition.

It wont be the fuel pump, I can hear that priming fine; I did all that as per gazzy's wiring doco, works mint xD. Right, if I pull cam sensor off and get a crank error, then I know that's the issue. Cheers. Will try it.tomorrow as I am at work now :/

Tested spark, strong as: changed ECU, sounds exactly the same: Now I'nm starting to think crank timing may be out by a turn.

draining radiator now... I hate cambelts: I want to put an EA71 in it. hahaha dat OHV

I KNOW WHAT'S WRONG!!!

I'm a total idiot.

Sooo, the V7 Crank gear may have the same number of teeth as the BE/BH/V5/V6 BUUUT; the crank angle thingymabobs are different, so they laugh at me as do many other things.- didn't listen to rossub... used the same crank gear: GUESS WHAT I'M CHANGING TOMORROW!!!

stupidity knows no bounds.

It just goes and jumps on me all the time.

Feel free to laugh at me now.

Doing some egbp testing and working on the fuel map tonight and cop goes past the other way. See brake lights so pull over and wait for him. Sure enough pulls up and does the breath test thing then checks d licence and says he wants to check a few things reg/wof /ownership etc. Then he notices the laptop and gets all curious forgets what hes doing even ends up pulling his wing man out to have a look at it all too wanting to now how it all worked. Didnt even ask if I was speeding which I wasnt - crack up.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
