Oh f**k.

Destinct metallic rattle at around 3k. Loud as f**k as you roll on and off the gas. Destinct tap at idle but not audable inside the car.

a little on the intake manifold, and what looks to be a small pool of oil on the block. Starts fine, nice and quiet with a little bit of boot but its the gentle stuff thats noisy as all f**k.

I'm thinking i've run a bearing...

So, next question would be:

Recommendations around auckland for rebuilds? Will definately be considering forged rods and pistons.

I assume i'll need new oil cooler, and can the turbo be flushed to remove any metallic crap?

Not what i need a month and a half before i go to the uk...

Doesnt the ecu just pull timing if theres knock? So the average idiot could reflash it without killing it to an extent.

late comer to the convo, haven't read page 2 or 3,

but are you going to be doing the bulk of the work your self? personally if it was me, id do all the engine removal and installation, and get someone to sort the short block...

I've had quotes of a fully forged short block around the 3-5k mark...

Yeah ray looking at my options. And nah i have a funny feeling it could have been the last gymkhana, but it took its time to show up.

Reflashing? Nah i've got 0 knock across the board, it was an agressive tune but still safe, higher boost but no issues on any logs recently.

Hoping to have the engine out this weekend, need to find an engine stand and hoist, might just take the longblock down to highbrook once its out, and a second longblock and just swap everything over. Need to make some phonecalls shortly to suss options.

Intention is to be able to really lean on it in the near future... :-D

According to the KnockLink? Or your knock cans? Or your Phormula KS-3?

Factory knock sensor, got it set so any detected knock pulls a good whack of timing with minimal delay. Yeah i know, relying on factory knock sensors, no doubt i'll be able to tell once its apart. Could be a lean issue on cylinder 3, as i'm still running stock fuel pump, i dont know yet.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
