hi there, new to the forum. a friend in japan has offered me the opportunity to buy a 2001 sti forester. naturally i am very interested in his proposition. thing is i cant seem to find anything about them, i found a little bit about the sti type m which is the manual model, however this is the auto and i can find very little about it. this article states a 0-100 time of 5.8 for the type m http://www.neweraimports.com/Nebusis/pictures/pdfs/507-2001SubaruForesterSTiIITypeM.No.393of800.ManualTransmission.Black(47A).pdf . but i have no clue how fast the auto would be. any information would be much appreciated :)

Same as normal S/tb or T/tb Forester. The difference is STI bodykit/seats/dash, 4pot front brakes, 16" BBS forged alloys.

PS: are you sure these still can be imported into NZ?.. I'd check that first.

- the STI Forester auto that I bought last year has a TD04L turbo, whereas I understand the standard turbo Forester is a TD04. I also read somewhere that there is a different suspension set-up from the standard model.

And I would agree that the 0-60 time is probably in the low 6's; it also pulls well in the 80kph+ overtaking speeds.
