Are all airfilters and spark plugs created equal?

For a BR9...

Am going to replace the airfilter and glovebox compartment filter...

Also going to replace spark plugs.

For air filters I am not interested in the ones that last a lifetime and can be washed... so for the 'regular' ones are there differences between those from a Subaru dealer vs the ones you buy elsewhere? What OEM ones can be purchased that are as good as the factory ones or maybe better but at the same or lower price?

Again for spark plugs... all look the same to me... any suggestions on factory vs alternatives.

Any reputable filter brand is fine as opposed to genuine. So ryco, sakura, fram, wix etc. They are built to oe spec so its apples for apples.

The genuine sparkplugs are ngk. Cheaper to buy ngk in an ngk box than ngk in a subaru box.

spark plugs, trawl trademe with your part-number, occasionally you find a good deal. i understand pro wholesale has got in to the spark plug game, 41 automotive has some f**king sharp prices, but be prepared for a bit of a wait as shipping can be a bit slow

I got four ngk bkr7e-11's for 23.96 with free shipping off trademe. So the deals are out there.

I bought mine off partsouq. Couldn't buy EJ257 NGK 7's in NZ and was half the price of buying standard iridiums locally.

Cheaper at your local...Most places are around $5 mark rrp for coppers trade $3-.

Ah- but I didnt have to leave the comfort of home.
