2004 STi Forester & WRX Struts

I seem to be finding mixed information everywhere on the compatibility between Foresters and WRX struts, specific years that don't work and specific years that do work.

Basically I want to lower my fridge a little bit to improve the handling and feel less like I'm driving Mum and Dads Highlander. But I don't want to lose complete practicality of the vehicle.

Is it correct that 2004 version 8 STi suspension will be a direct fit onto my Forester? Also, would v7 STi suspension fit? v7 bits just seem to come up more often than v8 is all.

Any info would be great, hate the idea of buying a set and wasting my $$$ to find they won't go.

SG Yeah? V7 struts should fit straight in, no need to change the top hats either. BG Legacy struts will fit too.

Yep SG9 chassis, wouldn't want Legacy struts though, want the firmness of the STi struts.

Ive got a set of bc gold strut tops that will fit if thats any help. A pair of fronts in fs thread but sure you've seen them.

Nah haven't seen them... want to bump them up? In saying that not sure I want to fluff round with a cert and all that...

Wont need a cert they arent camber adjust just fixed.

Ah thought they needed to be certed for height as well. Surely I'd get picked on anyway though?

Unsure. If springs are captive and isnt lower than 100mm i doubt it would matter. If adjustable in any way then yep certs required. Ring shane speights check with him hes the local cert authority.

Might have to, what was your price on them anyway? Only kicker is finding a set of rears as well.

Ive only got rear hats dude doubt there would be any benefit in the bcs just better if you buy some with buggered tops. Find the fs?
