Vacuume leak of doom

Zach

Recommended Posts

Car idling at 16 In_Hg.

I've inspected all the hoses/lines and there all mint as, Tried multiple mechanical boost gauges,

I've pulled the entire intake including intercooler. (not intake manifold yet but tempting.)

I'm totally dumbfounded its all mint, the BOV looks mint too but Im not totally sure about it cuz it is quite old.

Only thing I not looked at is the head breather hoses, there old plastic ones can they cause vac leaks though? Thanks any advice/ideas are welcome. I have acess to every tool udner the planet and I wont put the car back together til about 3pm, thanks.

If you can't pressurise it with the airline with the intake blocked then you probably have a HUGE leak. If you've definitely got it blocked and you still can't get pressure, get someone to hold the airline down and go listen at the exhaust, if it's whistling out there then you've got a stuck or leaking exhaust valve.

Could try blocking off the BOV completely take it out and plug the hole. That will tell you quickly if it's leaking. Apart from that then splits in the early plastic intakes on v1-2 wrx is pretty common (Had it happen on all of mine). They split on the intercooler pipe where it joins the turbo.

lol yea I found the cronic leak, it would only start leaking over 12psi, one of the rubber hoses pops open only at over 12psi tho..... also the bov is leaking :( which sucks cuz I really like the way my bov sounds and its hella rare im really gutted bout that one.

Im gona clamp that hose up now. Also Im looking to buy a good condition BOV, atmos or recirc I don't mind. Thanks for the help guys.

One coming from the bov, One coming from my 90degree bend going into the turbo and you know the big hose running from the intake to the ICV, well under 12psi it would lift up and seep air and then close again, so it was a bit of a stealth one, I sealed them up except for the bov, im sitting on 19-20 vac atm so not bad, but I know once I start boosting the bov will be leaking hard. :(

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
