How do I Move odometer reading Foward ?

Alright before you say anything i am not trying to move it back !! to make it look like it has less Kms / Miles

I found a STI gauge cluster that i want to put into my Wrx. Problem is the sit one has 57 thousand kms and my car has 192 thousand kms.Can they be changed in order to read correctly ?

Also doest it matter that my current cluster goes up to 260km/hs and the new one goes up to 180km/h

ichiban used to be able to change the digital ones, but dont know if he is still doing it

Try 5v through the ECU/Vehicle speed wire, to cluster (ignition on). Maybe with a dolphin torch battery?

Isn't tampering with a speedo illegal ?

Same question actually, i'm going from a v7 to a v9 sti so digital...

yeah my car is a version 8 wrx ( with the normal gauges, green lights ) and i want version 8 STI gauges with the red back light, shift light. Will it be a problem if my current gauge goes to 260km/h and the sti one goes to 180km/h or will the ECU or gauge work it out and show the correct speed ?

Not exactly the same case, but I did a 180 -->260kmh (and back) swap on my my BH, everything worked fine.

ok cool i though that would be the case, the gauges run on electrical signals right so they will just display the appropriate speed right ?

I've gone from v7 180 to v9 260 no worries its all good

I briefly looked into fitting a version 8 STI cluster into my BH, would require a full rewire though. The cluster has an internal CPU that would need the right programme to adjust the kms.

I was going to try powering the cluster on a bench, then feed 5v into the speed wire hopefully giving 180kmph. Then just time it/watch it till the kms are what I originally had (180kph x 24hrs = 4320km). Not sure if it would work, just a theory...

that might work, do you know which wires i need to tap into to try that ?

that would take so long to reach 192thousand haha at 4320km per day

FAIL - Just tried it on my wagon, I can just make the speedo move with 5v. Would need very fast 0v-5v pulses for it to work.

Guessing 1 pulse per gearbox output shaft revolution? Say roughly 6000rpm at 180km in 5th, could be about 100 pulses per second.

I have wrapped 180k speedo round the clock but not to 54000kph, that would wind it up like a spring and explode the multi-dimensional matrix of time
