welcome back philc! long time no see! how u been?

- all good, thanks. I've been missing the 'turbo rush', so had to get back to a Subaru :)

I'm just getting an immobiliser fitted to the Forester and once done, I'll be out on the road and hopefully make it to a few cruises, but probably stay off the racetrack.

Slight threadjack, but since you're in Wellington, I'll recommend this guy to get your alarm done, if you haven't already had it done

Top notch friendly service, will come to you, and can offer a ride to / from work if so required.

yep - that's the guy I used; came out to my place this morning and he's done a tidy job on the car.

Towbar next and I've booked into Towbar Express. They'll have to cut through the skirt, but say they put on a rubber surround so it looks tidy. Hopefully it'll be a neat job.

I had the remove-able towbar fitted a couple of months ago at Towbar Express and the fitter did a very tidy job, including cutting through the skirt.

Unfortunately I managed to break off and lose the electrics connector at the weekend, due to some unexpected off-road driving; completely my fault, but Towbar Express replaced and re-fitted the connector free of charge.

That's what I call good service.

My dad's looking for a towbar for his forester, how much did you pay and what model forester do you have? Thanks!

Hi there,

I went for the remove-able tow bar to save my shins and also an automatic cut-out for the electrics, so any wiring issues with a hire trailer wouldn't short circuit the car.

Prices paid;

towbar - $330

remove-able tongue and electrics - $60

Electrics short protector - $95

- plus GST.

The Forester is a 2002 STI automatic (SF5?).

I've attached a loaded trailer several times and the vehicle seems to cope okay under load, but I definitely don't indulge in any harsh acceleration in order to avoid strain on the auto gearbox.

Hope that helps

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
