BE5 Brake light noise issue thing......

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone could help me figure out this random issue.

Every time I put my foot on the brake it makes a noise from just under the dash like i've turned the headlights on... (click noise) and as soon as i've taken my foot fully of it does the noise as if you turn the lights off... Also it dims the AC console as if the lights are on.

Checked all the lights and none are out or have loose wires. Checked all the fuses also. Any ideas because its driving me nuts! :P Thanks in advance.

The clicking noise might be the brake switch at the top of the pedal.

If dash lights are fading with extra load you might have a bad earth, in the engine bay, or maybe a brake light earth inside the boot? Make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight too.

Could also check the alternator output at the battery. Should be around 14.3V at idle, then go no higher than 14.9V when you rev it.

Hey mate, finally found it. Checked the earth and the terminals but couldn't see anything. Then checked the bulbs again out of desperation and one was a single filament one when it should have been a double one...derp :P thanks for the help though mate :D. My turbo timer/voltmeter reads 12 on ignition and from 13.7 to 14.1 when on, is that alright?

Thought I'd use this thread instead of making a new one.

So electrics have been playing up recently (no bulb changed or anything).

Firstly my number plate lights stopped working (LEDs) after making my car a mobile rave and strobing like mad. This coincided with the interior lights (AC lights and drivers door lights and a few other buttons). Bought new ones and replaced blown interior fuse (number 12 which I believe is no plate lights fuse) this fixed the lights both inside and outside.

The next day however I got the same problem as was started on this post (clicking noise when braking) checked all the bulbs but they're fine (12w5v I think with double filament) . Then that night the spoiler brake light would strobe along with brake lights flickering, also the front parking lights (LEDs) would come on whenever the brake was applied

Not pushing brake obviously. BE5 light issue: http://youtu.be/kq-QbVxo674

... I'm not good w electrics...could someone give any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Check how many volts your alternator is putting out at idle, then with revs above 2500rpm. Could be a voltage regulator issue. Should give 14.3ish at idle, then go no higher than 14.8ish with a rev.

Check the brake switch at the top of the brake pedal, might be loose or faulty.

If the clicking noise is under the dash, it could be a faulty brake light relay playing up.

Could also be sub/amp power cable shorting onto the brake circuit. Could try pulling sub/amp fuse to see if the lights still plays up?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
