  1. *secret squirrel* I've paid for a spot then. I'll do my best to blend in. Maybe me and Viv can recreate our last drag race at the last Megameet on the start line where he kicked my arse quite convincingly.
  2. So is this limited to just Subarus ? I still have subaru overalls though.
  3. It is not a smooth car. It's noisy and rattly. The back seats are almost pointless. It is shocking on petrol. I am driving mine every day until I find a replacement daily driver, and it's over $100 a week in petrol, and it's only 3km to work. There is a huge GTR-tax on everything. My radio stopped working, and it's $1200 to replace. Now, for all its problems, it's an amazing car. It can be modified very easily. I got a tune for the transmission emailed to me from the UK for example. That made the gear changes smoother, and I can adjust clutch points etc easily. Its handling is incredible for a heavy car (and it feels heavy), and it is very very fast. I have no regrets buying it, it is honestly just as good as what you read about. And it is a hell of a lot more comfortable than my Subaru race car was.
  4. They will not perform similar. Completely different animals. This is what I bought to convert into a track car, if you have any questions about them, happy to help. For the record though, I would NOT buy one for a daily driver.
  5. I signed up to an auction site. Then I watched cars that came up for auction, and then someone over there would bid for me, up to the amount I specified. That covers it being delivered to your door in NZ (shipping/fees/MAF/insurance). Likely a compliance center rather than your house. Then you just pay for the VTNZ for WOF, and rego. And that's it ! Here's a breakdown from them : xxxxx yen - 2% surcharge on vehicles over 700,000yen, 4% for vehicles over 1,500,000yen 60,000 yen - our discount FOB if payment received in 3 workings days (75,000 if received after 3 working days) 5,000 yen - transport from auction house to shipping yard (can be more if auction is far from yard) 123,113 yen - JACANNA (NZ$1395 + 8500 YEN freight & delivery to your door) 4,000 yen - bank fee
  6. I have done this exact process in the last month, from buying at auction to shipping/MAF/ compliance etc. It is NOT scary at all.
  7. I looked at this exact process last year for a damaged car, and actually am right now importing a car, but not damaged. When it was first bought in, the entry certifier would've presented a document that showed all the things that needed to be fixed. Have you seen that ? That is where you need to start http://www.nzta.govt.nz/vehicle/warrants-certifications/repair-cert.html maybe get that document, and start making sure what has been ticked off the repair list ?
  8. Or just decap the yellows like heaps of people have ?
  9. After breaking three 1/2" I had to borrow a 3/4" and even then needed to extend it to break the hub. I think I\'ve still got it if you want to borrow.
  10. The closest I can find are the 1993 BG8Z GTR with 39,000km which sold for $2031.00 NZD.
  11. You seem to be after ignition barrels and key\'s a bit on here. Odd.
