  1. what about this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pre-CAT-SUBARU-IMPREZA-EJ16E-EJ161-EJ18E-EJ20E-EJ201-Exhaust-Oxygen-Sensor-EGO-/171352020586#shpCntId
  2. Done alot of research on this problem and pretty much most the time will be these few things. Front o2 sensor , afm, fuel pump , spark plugs and least common to cause those symptoms is a vac leak. The o2 sensor wont always throw a ecu code , but is the most common fault.
  3. not the afm , so must be the secondhand o2 sensor i was hoping was ok. risk i took being cheap i guess. where is the cheapest place to get one in nz? , heard subaru is expensive.
  4. yeah thought so , seems the purples don't last as long so ive heard.
  5. just went to install the pump and guess whats in there a walbro gss 341 ? random az seeing i brought it off a middle aged lady who was the first nz owner. Mechanic must have done it at some stage. narrows the hesitation issue down to afm pretty much as ive done knock sensor ,o2 ,fuel filter and spark plugs. glad i didnt go and buy a walbro. anyone want to swap a v7 sti pump for a purple afm or would an orange be ok if not matched to injectors and ecu etc?
  6. just wondering if it will fit ?
  7. put the first bend from the air box in and the sound still there but quieter, also replaced knock sensor and o2. The second hand o2 sensor must be faulty as still throws a code and low down power still jumpy az.
  8. I'll see what happens once I run the cai up the front and replace the sensors which turned up today.
  9. Sensors sorted and mod only done as free and easy. The sound is strange as you can be cruizing at 100kms in 5th and once you get slightly over 2500rpm the sound will start and its a real drone of a sound with a bit of pressure behind it.
  10. Hi all new to this club and have picked me up a stock standard98 s/tb forester and very keen on having a good play with it. Done a lot of reading etc and first mod on the list was the resonator removal to free up the intake a bit. Once done and reset the ECU I took it for a drive and noticed a strange sound like nothing I've heard before , which sounds like someone blowing air over the top of a bottle. It only happens while accelerator is down and seems to love the 2500 rpm mark and doesn't make the sound all the time aswell. Knock sensor and o2 sensor codes have shown up but were doing that before the mod. All VAC line checked for leaks by sight and ear. Is this normal until I fit a cai or is it something else? Any help would be awesome.
