  1. Hi Guys Had my 98 WRX a week and he speedo randomly stopped working, soon after threw a CEL, showing codes 24 and 33. 33 is the speed sensor and from what I have googled 24 is idle related and most likely caused by the speed sensor, cars also in limp mode. Has anyone got any experience with what most likely is the cause? Just replace the speed sensor and wire or is something else likely to have gone wrong? Cheers
  2. Couldn't see any oil but the loom was dirty so gave it a good clean inside and out with WD40, seems to have fixed it! Wish i'd tried that before replacing o2 sensor! Thanks for your help Ross much appreciated! Hopefully the light stays away.
  3. All sorted now. Legacy lateral links are the same length, swapped in some of them and was perfect. Cheers for the help
  4. Hi I'm getting fault codes 31 and 32 in my 96 not turbo Impreza. I haven't noticed it running rough or anything although mileage seems pretty average (only had car a month, so not sure if normal or not) The codes relate to throttle position sensor and O2 sensor. I've replaced the precat O2 sensor with no change. Check engine light comes on after the car has warmed up properly, and if I turn off key then on again it goes away Any advice would be more than welcome
  5. Alrighty, so pulled it all apart this morning, found that the forester links are about 5mm longer bolt centre to centre than my stock ones. Diff cradle looks pretty straight as the threads where lockdown bolts line up pretty well. The new deliberation is whether to hunt for the same length as stock lateral with sway mount, or change front link to forester as well (however this option will increase negative camber and track width) Any thoughts?
  6. I will check to see if subframe/diff all locks straight and square as well. Does anyone think its caused by changing lateral link to forester links? Another theory I thought could be the bushings in my forward lateral link being stuffed compared to the back ones
  7. No everything is stock except for the above sway bar parts
  8. I didn't notice anything bent when changing it. Alignment guy said toe arms need replacing but his justification was due to having to max out adjustment, didn't mention the actual cause. I will double check it all but seems strange both would be bent?
  9. Hi guys Recently picked up a 96 impreza gf8 wagon. Went to fit a sway bar and found mine had no mounts on chassis or on the lateral links. I've fitted mounts from a gc8 and lateral links out of a forester(2000 i think) from pick a part. Have since gone for alignment and has come back with 3.7mm and 1.9mm toe in the rear and the guy said he's maxed out the adjustment. Searching the web i've found different theories on the lateral link length, sedans supposedly being 10mm longer than wagon, the forester links didn't appear to be any longer and have roughly compared from under the car and they seem the same give or take a few mm. Does anyone know for sure if the links are different lengths? And if they are, would best bet be replacing the front link (on the rear) with forester ones as well? Thanks in advance for any advice, i'm rather stumped as of what to do
  10. A trip to Pickapart this weekend it is then.
  11. Hi Guys Have searched around and can't find exactly what i'm after. I am trying to fit an STI rear sway bar to my 96 Impreza HX20s. I have the the bushings and the brackets for the bushings and the end links, but it seems my car does not have the bracket to mount to the car (my car did not come with a rear sway). Does anyone know what the part is I need, or where I can find it? Thanks in advance
