Hi all, I have a non turbo 98 gf8 impreza daily which has run its gearbox and I am trying to find a new one to go in, not fussed on having the exact same I just need one to be able to drive the thing. It runs a cable clutch (so push style I believe. Gearbox code is TY754XR1AB Is anybody able to please tell me what the final drive ratio is for this as I am unable to find so far. Also if anyone has any cheap options or knows where one is, any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

So guys. I've been a long time viewer of this site and finnaly registered and made my account. I have an idea and wanted some advice on what you guys think, whether im nuts or I have a good idea. Previously I have owned a few gtb wagons and the odd sedan but hqve never had and always wanted a wrx. I have just brought (off a friend) a 1998 subaru gl impreza hatch for $200 which I have fixed up for next to nothing and have it running awesome. But I have been pondering on the idea of slowly building it into a wrx. Im wanting to buildsomething that I can say I have donedobeing a 5 minute drive from pickapart and working round the corner from a subaru wrecker I feel as though parts could be easy to come by. This would be a budget build and not have any completion date as I want and enjoy something to tinker on, as well as waiting for the right parts to come avaliable at good prices. Please let me know if you guys think im nuts or not
