  1. go to pick a part and see if there is a replacement engine for what you need, 300 bucks for a 4cyl fuel injected engine. obviously you would need to remove it, easy enough they have a crane you can use. they wont have much info on each vehicle it would be up to you to figure out exactly what you need. i recently got one from there for my car, the donor car had a frontal impact so i figured it was quite possibly running at the time of the accident. whipped the engine out and dropped the sump to check if there was any bearing material, nope put it back on and wheeled the engine out to my trailer. resealed sump when i was home put it in car crossed my fingers soo hard they almost broke. now i have a running car on the el-cheapo.
  2. My 1999 B4 just ticked over 450,000km on monday
  3. Hey Guys i was wondering if you have heard about the unforgotten Christmas cruise happening this sunday the 20th meeting up around 1230 and i think the map will be about 250kms going all over canterbury. im keen as to go and would like to meet some other club members along the trip
  4. hey speedy sub i checked the overflow hose and there was a split so i fixed that so no more airlocks, i also changed the rad cap as i noticed it wasnt allowing coolant to return to radiator. went for a drive yesterday up the port hills and it went fine, then drove up major aitken and ended up racing a vr4 it was going good for two mins then started creeping again. bugger i thought i had it sorted. bottom hose is hot when engine is overheating next up i have water pump and radiator to look at.
  5. drove the car today, the outside temp started at about 10 degrees car ran fine, as soon as i got into the sun the outside temperature went up to 16 then car slowly started warming up. on the way back to chch it was 11 and the car didnt heat up past normal once, even with a bit of a thrash. i will test it on the next hot day and see what happens, im hoping it has figured itself out. if not ill give the radiator and heater core a good wash out.
  6. Hey Guys i have a rev-d B4 and i have noticed around town cruising the car runs at normal temp, once i am on the open road at 100kph (cruising) the cars starts to warm up, i can control most of the over heating by cranking up the heater full heat and full fan, this is enough to pull the temp back down to normal, once i turn off heater it starts to climb again. checks so far the radiator fans work i have changed the thermostat with a genuine subaru one it is brand new coolant, the red organic stuff from ripco pretty sure there are no air locks left. i have been told to flush out heater core but i dont see how that will help as when i put the heater on max it cranks out the heat, so that tells me there should be no issues with that, pretty much i dont want to remove intercooler again to do this haha cbf cheers guys
  7. hmm did ya have to change any settings just connect to obd through bt, then go into torque and select the obd2 bt adaptor and should be away all fine right, i have a 99 be5 n/a,,a/t
  8. When your adaptor is plugged in does the red light in the adaptor stay on
  9. i purchased a bluetooth elm327 obd2 adaptor off trademe, my android device can see and i put the code 1234 in, shows obd2 as a paired device but then torque cant connect to it, could this because im using the free version of the app or could i have a faulty device,
