  1. I'd love to attend this but my track car isnt a Subaru.... Would some Rotary competition be welcome on track? something something assuming I fix it in time
  2. o/ Yeah I have mine in my Rx7, I like them. Really like the design. As 1randomkiwi said they are super easy to read, good for track days as you just get a big fat number in your face vs having to read a needle. Only downside to them is they don't dim at night. The dimming function changes colour not the brightness of the back light. You can manually set the brightness with an included tool. But it's not something you can do easily. Requires a little experimentation to get a good light level that's visible during the day and doesn't annihilate your vision at night. I just chose mine to match my stock gauge cluster back lighting. You can wire it to be either colour with lights on or off. Or for it to be one colour permanently. Otherwise pretty happy with them. I have boost and oil pressure.
  3. Moved it so I could fit a new LSD into the Hairdressers car No more open diff for me!
  4. Haven't been on in a few days, been out car shopping! Managed to get a little mx5 for what I felt was the right price. So quite pleased. Only driven it home, but had me smiling all the way, so I would say I got the right car! also made me really appreciate how nice my legacy is! Thanks all for the suggestions, made me look a round a bit more and consider my alternatives. Went to look at a few things I would never of initially. Mate do it! Be good to have a few more of us there! Let us know how you get on.
  5. Yeah this would be my solution if I wasn't after RWD! Civic or Integra would be perfect! More details would be great thanks PM them if you want. Thanks for the suggestions, that Shov'ette is pretty cool. The E30 is tasty! Im almost tempted to splurge on that since its a full race car!!! Agreed, great cars. But id like to learn to slide properly while doing this and eventually try my hand at drift days. [quote name='kwi_fozze said: mr2s on the hampton downs skidpad understeer like crazy, sooo much rear end push without getting into clutch kicking.most of the cars that have broken at hamptons lately (skidpad) was a skyline from limiter bashing, an over enthusiastic slide in an mx5, and someone with a suzuki that tipped it over because tall narrow cars dont like handbrake slides Even with massive clutch kicking they were having a bad time! Dont forget the GTR that you towed home with a roasted clutch!
  6. Yeah I have been eying up the e36's, is looking like my #2 choice after an MX5. No idea about which ones come with LSD's / what aftermarket or oem swap options there are though. Not too keen on the MR2's as I have seen a couple out there and it is just endless under steer.
  7. I want to keep my daily away from track use. Can't afford to put that into a barrier/ Break something. And you have seen how many broken cars the Gymkhana makes Plus I want to do some arse out stuff.
  8. I've given up on having money and given in to the motorsport bug and want to start out with the regular gymkhana's at Hampton Downs primarily because they are cheap and a stupid amount of fun. Once I learn to drive properly I would see what else is out there to dabble in, track days, drift etc etc.... The original idea was to pick up an old NA mx5 as they seem to dominate the competition and go from there. That was until I saw how much people are asking for them... !!! Damage to every panel torn/ knife holes (actually) in roof and an open diff, 200k+ and asking 6-7k???? Same goes for the usual suspects, Silvias etc I seem to have backed myself into a bit of a corner regarding criteria. First and foremost I need to keep it cheap. Hilariously Cheap, until i get serious and feel it is something I want to poor $$$ into. Secondly, continuing with the cheap theme, I want to keep everything road legal, because trailers and aren't cheap either - will sort one eventually, but to begin with I want to stay trailer-less. Also a lot of casual events require wof/ Reg. Certs- I want to avoid these like the plague because as soon as I want to change anything I have to re-cert, and certs are expensive - see the theme here? RWD - I want to have some tail out fun and get away with stuff I couldn't on the road. Factory LSD preferred (or a cheapish swap). So TL: DR; Gymkhana Car. Cheap - cheaper the better. Road legal. LSD. Any / all advice welcome.
  9. Dont have a photo of his car, but it was exactly like this....
  10. Hi all, Mates STI was pinched on Christmas Night from a house in Flatbush Auckland. Version 7 Bugeye sedan. Pretty much factory, World Rally Blue on the factory Gold 17inch wheels. Plate is EDU178 Factory Exhaust so it is one of the only quiet STI's out there, so please give that silent Version 7 a second look. Please contact the Police FIRST if you see or know anything about the car.
  11. I would go get it, but saving my petrol money for the Xmas cruise
  12. We have the new pic will upload soon.
