  1. i have a RA DCCD 3.9 752 series box for sale if your after that, or will swap for 4.44 754 series RA ness haha
  2. I have always had a trailer for my racing, although the rally car is the only car ive ever raced that is actually road legal so its a bit different haha, but yeah just have myself setup with trailer, prado and tow the rally car. the rally car is also not a nice car to drive slowly or at cruise with clutch and the noise so much rather cruise to the event, do the skids, and if anything breaks you just throw it on the trailer, cruise home and fix it another day haha. Depends on what your trying to do, if you just want to do some skids in a daily at a trackday id say the odds are good enough to deal with a breakage or otherwise if it happens. if you going to a rallysprint or full on racing the car then your pretty close to the limits so doesnt take much to make it undriveable
  3. i do the rallycar gearbox wayyyy more than i like to admit, all but once was at home, the other was on a hoist and it was amazing. pretty much a 1 man deal apart from lifting the actual box into place which needs a jack, another guy to guide and alot of swearing
  4. I run a KAZZ front diff which is same thing different manufacturer. it pops and bangs and brilliant for rallying, but agree is fairly aggressive for street use. http://www.kaazusa.com/ its cheaper than the cusco im pretty sure, there are a couple of NZ distributors that can get them from what i know, i got mine with the rally car so not 100 sure In the rear i run the factory r160 plate style diff, if i jack the car up and turn one wheel forwards the other 3 all turn forwards so everything is pretty tight haha. I have 4.1 rear plate diff, plus a spare that is 4.1(not selling sorry) so not sure if i just have 2 that happen to be swapped or if you can get them in 4.1 factory, but i had a 3.9 ages ago that i sold so they are arround just have to keep your eyes open
  5. Talk to Chris at Mag and Turbo he sorts out all my stuff for rally car and everything else, tell him Matt sent you
  6. hi team, looking at doing some off season fixing on the rally car, does anyone know if a GF8 fuel tank would fit in a GC8? Rocks like denting this one. might look at some underbody protection as well...... Cheers
  7. if the seal has failed could i tell if i take the turbo off? guessing i need to rip the turbo off and inspect, and a compression test will point me towards what may have failed
  8. did he damage the engine or did it just get smokey? did it clear later on?
  9. hmmm cock thats not really what i was hoping it was. i have a TD05 spare that im all setup to put in, but turbo doesnt feel sloppy enough be causing the issue. it was at the end of 2 races that were fairly long each so im picking the engine was quite hot...
  10. Evening team, Just after some guidance with our Speedway Legacy, last time we raced it on the last race it lost a bit of power and started pumping white smoke out the exhaust I assumed it was the turbo(TD04) but I have taken the front of it off and the shaft doesn't have any play in in, could it still be the turbo or is possibly more serious..... Any thoughts? Cheers
  11. Just a FYI for anyone with possumlink/G1 link gear, the software does run and I can login to the ecu on a windows 8, 64bit PC hasnt really resolved the issue as everything looks ok, but now i can log(by having the PC on and connected during runs) to see if any problems occur.
  12. has surge tank usually, feels very much like fuel surge, but was happening with the tank, without the tank etc. ive replaced lift pump to make sure the pump sure tank is getting enough fuel, but this is why i want the guage, so i can see the pressure drop to confirm or if its cutting with no pressure drop then its something else.... this fault was very strange, does seem to be load related as went the whole way up ashley forest no drama on the last run, but then cut out after the dipper and after the finish. im rewiring for dedicated feeds for the in tank and external pumps, i have a laptop to log all the stuff off the ECU to see if i can see an error with any sensors like a dodgy TPS or something, so the only thing i cant see is the fuel presure. im hoping the new lift pump and wiring will solve
  13. Im having issues with the car cutting out intermittently so im trying to use it for fault finding, see if the pressure is dropping causing the car to cut out, or if the car cuts but i still have pressure i can look else-ware. i have a laptop coming to hookup to the possum-link during runs to log what is going on to see if i can see a sensor or something that is dieing, but need to know if fuel pressure is there to start with
  14. haha yeah thats why its going in front of the ballast seat, err sorry co-driver i would hook it to the ECU however i run a possum link so dont think i have any extra inputs or anything [quote name='WRXER said: Chat to Tony at RDL perforamance in Hornby, he has almost finished the setup on my track car..Should have it running before Koom do you know what you ran into the cab at all?
  15. Hi team, Looking at putting a analog fuel presure gauge in the rally car but cant really find a kit that id be happy to put in. Anyone installed a guage like this/know where i can get one?
