1. Haha don't worry I will let her go soon. Will make a tidy profit out of it as well lol.
2. You guys are legends. So the coil plugs were back to front swapped them over and away she went very happy man right now. Took it for a small run and she went perfectly. Thanks for your help. Haha now to fix the power steering issue that's just popped up.
3. Ahh sweet could be my problem I have the black plugs for the injectors at the back, Grey at the front but the spark plugs are the other way around. Cheers guys will let you all know if it works when I get home after work. I didn't need to pull the injectors themselves out to get the intake mani off so that's sweet.
4. Hey everyone. Just finished my rebuild on the legacy 1998 GTB. Motor is in. I have cranking and almost running but cant quite get there. I have fuel , spark & compression just no boom. I have checked my vac lines and they all look to be in the correct place. Im wanting to know if someone can post up a pic of their injectors (plugged in) and coils (plugged in)??? (Both sides) This can then eliminate if I have them around the wrong way as the plugs are different colour. I have tried to look on google and on here but cant find anything. I have replaced the crank sensor with a borrowed one but this makes no difference. Cam sensor got replaced with the old crank sensor and it made it worse so Im thinking they are fine. I double checked timing and it looks fine its more I think I have plugs around the wrong way (hopefully) or the timing is waaaay out. Any advise or help would be much appreciated. Thanks Ray
5. Yeah when I worked for IAG only NAC has the option to cover some form of insurance for racing but it was via a broker in the lower north island and it was called Hot Rod Cover. I don't know what they cover now though but can find out as I still have some contacts in there. When we get our house at the end of the year I'm getting me another wrx for a track/rally car pure trailer queen (reg on hold but will have a wof)
6. I was lucky with both mine. Current one FORGE1 - free. BAD4X4 - $100.
7. Haha yeah I know the feeling about keeping rims. I just saw my old RS4 Stagea is back in town and my 18s that I sold with it are now spray painted matte black and don\'t look that nice. We have been looking around for another WRX. There was a nice V7 Sti Hatch in Taupo for $8500 but had a family thing pop up so had to go back to square 1. Ok sweet I would be keen to see anyone who is tinkering with these to get any tips and tricks with pulling the motor apart it was literally a google it and go for it haha I even remember seeing something about the bolt that I missed but owell cant change it now. If you need my number again just let me know. She did say it looked nice so when its up and running let me know haha
8. Haha kind of. I have had this one for a few months (just before the wrx got stolen) and was going to rebuild it and give to the wife so I would get the wrx back but with it getting taken it changed and we got this vw bora to tie us over Xmas etc and for me to slowly rebuild this motor so we can get back into a Subaru. But missed the small bolt inside the block when splitting the block and its a goner now. Ok sweet will send him a pm yeah I wasn\'t looking fwd to freight costs from down there. I would even look at a sti engine and go single turbo as from what I have read online its doable. Haha are you still selling your one? I\'m hoping to show my wife when she\'s finished on the ph haha.
9. Hey all been using google heaps to help rebuild this EJ20R from a 1998 BG legacy GTB. So got everything apart and not until I got the splitting the block where I ran into trouble....... Let\'s just say its Fu&ked. Missed the small 10mm bolt in the block. Snapped the internal housing So my question is is there a difference between blocks on the ej20? I have also seen this engine package on TM http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=703364911&permanent=0 so might look at getting it if there is no other alternative. Thanks in advance.
10. Nah Mate, no luck in Raumanga in saying that I still do driveby\'s during the week etc to see if there is anything lying around haha. Yeah I do have insurance and got the pay out just before xmas so that was good. [quote name='Swindog said: I would say roll up and take it but if its a dealer car or transporter theyll have it under cover when not in use or away in a compound and with stolen plates itll have a shelf life. Prob 3 months or so then they scrap it or convert it. Best chances are to track it and follow and wait till someone goes to the servo or take aways and then jack it (take it back without altercation) yourself and hide it. Yeah thats the plan if I see it I will take it back no questions asked haha and if it means there is an altercation I will just ram it with my 4x4 haha put my custom bar work to good use.
11. Hey all, sorry for not keeping this updated. So after hitting up some connections the car is in Kaitaia and looks like it was taken by gang members (Tribies/rebels). I have narrowed it down to 2 streets but due to the nature of the people that took it I\'d rather move on as I have a family to think about. Police have advised its probably being used for transporting drugs and firearms in northland. 2days after the car was taken a mates workshop was broken into, all that was taken was plates to another wrx nothing else. So at this stage its not coming back. I reckon this justice system is crap. My thoughts are Thief is in prison for other offences, while in prison tax payers pay for them to do a qualification, that is Auto Electrical, gets released and is qualified to disarm immobilisers/alarms, takes cars, gets away with it, govt provide information on how well inmates are doing with trying to get there life on track with doing qualifications while in rehabilitation/prison. My rant over haha thanks again for anyone who looked out for us Ray
12. This is the only pic of the car we have. I have had a tip that there was a Subaru getting the sh!t beaten out of it from 1:30 til around 4:30am that morning in Raumanga but no confirmation it\'s our one.
13. It was taken in Morningside Whangarei [imgURL=http://=http://s862.photobucket.com/user/forge01/media/A2DAD542-0DD8-4B53-9801-379C097B9B04_zpsx359l6vg.jpg.html]]http://=http://s862.photobucket.com/user/forge01/media/A2DAD542-0DD8-4B53-9801-379C097B9B04_zpsx359l6vg.jpg.html][/img]
